The United Way of Charles County announces the award of $21,500.00 to local non-profit agencies to provide physical and mental health services to uninsured and underinsured women and children of Charles County. The money for the awards was raised through United Way of Charles County’s initiative, “Women’s Leadership Council” for the 2017 Campaign year.
Catherine Foundation Pregnancy Care Center was awarded $3,000 to purchase new car seats and pack & plays for clients that participate and complete childbirth or parenting classes.
Center for Abused Persons was awarded $2,400 to provide psychoeducational domestic violence support group sessions for women at the Charles County Detention Center.
Center for Children was awarded $5,600 to provide mental health services to mothers with children that have been victims of abuse.
Health Partners Clinic was awarded $5,000 to provide dental services to women and children who are uninsured or underinsured.
The Promise Resource Center was awarded $2,000 to provide Circle of Security Parenting group sessions for mothers who have been identified with a history of substance abuse.
Finally, Our Place Waldorf was awarded $3,500.00 to provide hot meal service to women and children in need.
