2017 Day of Caring - September 20, 2017
One of the largest volunteer initiatives in Charles County
Our non profit agencies are very busy during the year serving their clients, so many projects around their offices don't get completed. That is why the United Way of Charles County Day of Caring, held each year in September is so important to so many agencies. Volunteers from around the county, consisting of members of the community and staff from Charles County businesses, take the day off from their regular duties to contribute their time and energy to our non-profit agencies; completing many types of projects. Without the help of volunteers, many of these projects would not get done. Projects consist of IT work, landscaping, painting, flyer distribution, sorting donations, cleaning and organizing maintenance shops, just to name a few. Join in the fun!
The 2016 Day of Caring event sponsored 17 non profit agencies having 32 projects accomplished with 134 volunteers participating. The combined value of their donated time equates to nearly $20,000 in services provided to the non profit agencies. We are grateful to all the volunteers that came out last year and assisted with this great event. Pictures from 2016 Day of Caring event are posted on our Facebook page here.
