Message from the President & CEO 

Thank you for visiting United Way of Charles County's website.  We hope you will find a lot of useful information about our organization and the work we do in Charles County.

As you explore our site you will see that we are involved in many aspects of our community.

1. We provide support to 37 Partner Agencies by assisting donors to give to them through our Payroll Deduction Campaigns.
2. We provide mini-grants to our agencies through Community Impact Funds.
3. We offer a women's initiative known as Charles County Women-United in Giving which provides grants to organizations that offer programs for women and children in Charles County.
4. We are part of the Charles County Homeless and Emergency Shelter Committee which, among other projects, provides Homeless Resource Days to give individuals who happen to be homeless a one-stop shop for resources.
5. We sponsor an annual Day of Caringsm so that individuals, companies, and organizations may volunteer to assist our Partner Agencies with chores and tasks that might otherwise not get done because of funding issues.
6. We have partnered with Tri-County Council of Southern Maryland to tackle the big issue of transportation to those who need to use public transportation to get to where they need to go, such as health appointments, jobs and job training.
7. We provide FamilyWize prescription drug cards that allow people to get discounts on their prescription medication, saving Charles County citizens over one million dollars since the beginning of the program.
8. We recycle cell phones and other electronic devices, earning a small amount of money for United Way but more importantly, helping our environment.
9. We produce an annual Directory of Human Services which helps connect people to the services they need.

We are a very busy two-person office using our donations wisely, efficiently, and effectively to help those citizens of our county that need some extra support in their lives.
