Annual Bike Ride
Charles County Sheriff's Office 2014 Annual Bike Ride
With snow storms on both sides of March 22nd, this years Charles County Sheriff's Office Annual Bike Ride was very successful. This was the 5th year for the 26-mile bike ride along the scenic Indian Head Rail Trail. This years ride brought cyclists and in-line skaters out to participate. There were over 140 registrants this year that earned a total of $3,154 and (after expenses) will be donated to United Way of Charles County and Spring Dell Center equally. Cyclists and skaters traveled along the Rail Trail between Indian Head and White Plains, with one rider traveling the 26 mile course in 37 minutes!
Special thanks to Lt. Stephen Salvas of the Charles County Sheriff's Office for heading up the event again this year and all the officers that rode the trail to keep the riders safe. We also thank the Town of Indian Head, Karen Williams and her volunteers, for providing a home made lunch for everyone that participated. United Way of Charles County appreciates all their hard work in planning this event each year so we can continue our work in helping others in need throughout the county.
